The significant problems we face cannot be solved at the same level of thinking we were at when we created them”

~Albert Einstein

Life can be overwhelming and difficult. Pressures from your work, problems in your relationships, issues with your children, family sibling issues and negative emotions or health issues can easily interfere with your ability to be happy and enjoy your life. Managing life with all these pressures and feelings can produce turmoil making our lives very challenging at best and demoralizing at worst. Who ever said life was easy? – Is this you?

For those marriages and individuals that struggle, we begin by realizing that relationships are our most powerful influences. It is not about blame but realizing what you and your spouse or partner may be doing to sabotage the relationship as well as the family dynamics. We can rebuild your levels of trust, intimacy and communication, now!

I grew up in a large family with a history of trauma, dysfunction and addiction. Having been in the business world and dealing with relational loss, this prompted me to seek my own counseling for recovery from relational trauma as well as issues with codependency.

To further my expertise in the treatment of trauma and addictions, I have been trained in the Pia Mellody Post Induction Therapy (PIT) model for treating family of origin developmental and relational trauma. I have been trained in the Relational Life Therapy (RLT) model for couples developed by Terry Real and I am trained in EMDR protocols for addiction, trauma, and dissociative identity disorder. I have also been trained with sex addiction pioneer Patrick Carnes through IITAP and earned accreditation as a Certified Sexual Addiction Therapist (CSAT) as well as earned the accreditation as a Certified Partner Trauma Therapist (CPTT).

My priority is to be a therapist who strives to gain a deep understanding of the concerns of my clients and implications for their lives. In addition to being a knowledgeable therapist, I bring real life experience that provides intangible qualities to assist my clients in their own growth and recovery.

I offer a variety of a treatment approaches tailored to the needs of each client that are collaborative and instructive in nature. I have proficiency in dealing with people who seek growth and healing from trauma as well as the following issues that involve interpersonal relationships: career exploration; learning differences; behavior modification dealing with self-sabotaged beliefs and thoughts; mental and emotional issues (depression, stress relief, anxiety); marriage and family counseling; grief and loss transition; and recovery from addictions and childhood trauma.

Furthermore, I am a certified advanced trainer in Neurofeedback (NeurOptimal) which is a treatment that facilitates change within the brain by optimizing the communications levels between the whole brain to create positive outcomes. This “brain training” is a pleasant meditative experience. The approach recognizes that the brain has natural tendencies toward self-regulation and resilience, allowing flexible cognitive and behavioral responses to a challenging and changing environment.
