An event every day that begins at 9:00 am, repeating until September 20, 2019
This is a Two Day Seminar – September 19th – 20th; 9-4 each day.
Technology continues to impact the practice of counseling with new and efficient ways to provide services. All Texas Licensed and Marriage Family Therapist’s are now required to “receive appropriate education, training, and/or supervised experience in using relevant technology.” This requirement may be met through a university setting or through at least 15 hours of continuing education in person or online.
(From the LMFT Rules effective May 2019: §801.58 Technology-Assisted Services
(d)… A therapist who uses technology-assisted services must maintain documentation of academic preparation and supervision in the use of technology-assisted services as part of the therapist’s academic program or the substantial equivalent provided through at least 15 hours of continuing education and 2 hours every subsequent renewal period.)
This two-day seminar will focus on the expanding field of delivering therapy via technology. The participant will be sent two articles to read before the event. The seminar will be interactive with both didactic and experiential components. This seminar is only a requirement for LMFTs’ who want to use tele counseling, but is open to all mental health providers. Bring your smart phone, computer, or tablet.
